CHRISTIAN DOCTRINE CLASSES
Theological Foundation – Scriptural Clarification – Practical Application
“In
your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an
answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you
have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
-
Do you want
to have a better understanding of your salvation in Christ?
-
Would you
like to know more about Who God is and who you are in Christ?
-
Would you
like to not only have greater assurance and hope, but also be able to
express that assurance and hope to others?
-
Would you
like to be able to express your faith in a more confident and informed
manner?
-
Would you
like to be a counselor of other Christians and know how to apply the
Scriptures for any given situation or circumstance?
If you answered “Yes”
to any of these questions and you live in the Austin area, perhaps you
should consider enrolling in
SingleVISION’s Christian Doctrine Classes.
A TEN WEEK
COURSE
SingleVISION Ministries, Inc.
will be conducting Christian Doctrine Classes
each week for TEN WEEKS. This course will be offered three
times each year. (January into March and May into July and
September into November) There will be an Orientation Class the week before
each series of classes begins.
THE CLASSES
The classes will be three hours
one evening each week (6:00 to 9:00). The classes will be a
total of at least thirty hours over the ten-week period. They will be
broken down into the following three phases:
- THEOLOGICAL FOUNDATION
(1 hour). We will study the foundational doctrines that are the basis of
our security in our Christian walk. Each class will bring us to a fuller
understanding of WHO GOD IS and WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST. While
some textbooks will be used, our Bibles will be our primary source.
- SCRIPTURAL CLARIFICATION
(1 hour). In each class you will learn the connection of the Theological Foundation
with your life experiences and circumstances. This will be a
co-ordination of the doctrines you have learned with SingleVISION
principles. The student will learn how to make the transition of the
intellectual knowledge to the Spiritual experience in their personal
lives.
- PRACTICAL APPLICATION
(1 hour). In each class you will learn how to minister in the lives
of other Christians what you have learned. There may even be a time
in the class for role playing and creating
simulated opportunities to express these truths in various situations.
Your benefit from this part of the study will be evidenced in your personal witness and counseling
opportunities. This will also aid you in your teaching and preaching
opportunities.
LIMITED
NUMBER OF STUDENTS
Enrollment will be limited. The
classes will be kept small so that each individual can receive personal
attention. The classes will be very active and will include full
participation on the part of each student. There will be assignments for
outside of class and in the hour of special application the students can
immediately put into practice what they learn in each class. We will enroll
on a first come first serve basis.
ASSIGNMENTS
There will be homework assignments
beginning with the Orientation Class and every class throughout the
following ten-week course. Assignments will be primarily Scripture Reading
Assignments. There will be strict enforcement of these assignments.
All students will be required to fulfill assignments in order to complete
the course. The result will be that our students will become more familiar with their Bibles.
Your Primary Textbook will be your Bible.
TUITION
THERE ARE THREE METHODS TO DETERMINE
THE AMOUNT OF TUITION FOR EACH STUDENT. The amount of the tuition
depends on the student.
- If a student wants to transfer from their regular
one hour counseling sessions to the three hour classes, their
regular donation for counseling will apply for the classes; but if the
student elects to continue regular counseling in addition to the classes the #3 method will
apply.
- If a student is already a regular donor to
SingleVISION Ministries and wants to attend these classes, the student’s
regular donation will apply for the classes. (Of course, we welcome
additional donations if the student is able.)
- If the first two methods do not apply, an amount the
student can afford will be determined in a personal conversation at the
time of enrollment.
TUITION
may be paid in one TOTAL payment in advance or it may be paid
WEEKLY at each class over the course of ten weeks. Each student will
make a commitment for the entire ten weeks.
